A Letter from Our Founder
Together, our team’s mission is to create a trusted and welcoming clinical practice where patients feel safe and comfortable enough to be open and honest in their situations and needs. Aside from being a medical doctor, I have lived the life of a patient that has suffered from long-term physical disabilities for over 17 years. During those years, I have experienced judgement, scrutiny, shaming and derision recurrently by a full spectrum of medical professionals. I know first-hand the pain and struggles that patients endure just trying to find adequate treatment for their ailments.
Then for the past ten years, I have worked on the side of the provider. I have felt the pressure from administration, state and federal agencies and regulatory bodies to avoid certain treatment options. I have witnessed patients dismissed or marginalized repeatedly by the health system. I have experienced how patients felt compelled to lie about their symptoms in order to be taken seriously. They became disillusioned with the practice of medicine as a whole, and who could possibly blame them.
As a practice that is primarily focused on the evaluation for new treatments with medical marijuana, we declare upfront, deliberate, and sincere that no one should have to lie to be taken seriously. You will be met with empathy and understanding. You will learn what trusting your provider feels like again. We want our patients to know we are standing side by side with them in their journey for relief and a better quality of life. We will strive to create a sense of true partnership because I have been where you are. Let us find a better way together.
