DOCTOR VISITS FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME
What is Telemedicine?
Simply put, telemedicine is a healthcare industry term for private, secure video conferencing between doctor and patient using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Once your doctor appointment registration is complete we will email or text you a link for the online meeting. It’s really just as simple as clicking on it, the computers are connected, and you will see and hear your doctor live from their office.
Just point and click
Telemedicine Technology
Just like visiting a doctor’s office your virtual appointment should be private and confidential. TCN prefers to use a telemedicine platform called Doxy.me . It is easy and offers more security and privacy features than other video conferencing platforms like Zoom. However, we can conference on other platforms such as those listed below upon request.

What do I need for a telemedicine Appointment?
Here is a list of important things to prepare for a telemedicine video conference. Just click the tabs or “+” on the right to get more details.
Get To Know Dr Nick- Computer, Tablet or Smartphone with a Camera and Microphone
Most recent laptops, tablets, and smartphones have built in cameras and microphones. These will automatically engage when the telemedicine conference link is clicked. Desktop computers are comprised of a hardware box (people often have them on the floor), keyboard, mouse, and monitor (screen) all connected by wires. It is not common for them to include a camera and microphone. If you are unsure whether you have a camera, then please call us at 800-484-5303 and we will help you find a solution.
- A Good Internet Connection
It is rare for anyone to have a computer or tablet without an internet connection. The most common is Wifi which is an over-the-air internet connection. It is often supplied as part of a cable TV service package. Many homes that have a desktop computer workstation will have that computer plugged directly into the internet with a wire. Smartphones may work for videoconferencing using the phone service subscription, but it is best if they are connected to Wifi for your appointment.
If you do not have internet service, or a private place to access WiFi, please give us a call at 800-484-5305 and we will help you find a solution.
- A private place to have your video appointment
It is important that you do not conduct your telemedicine appointment in public! If you are driving your TCN doctor will not conduct your appointment until you have pulled over into a legal parking spot. If that is not possible the appointment will be ended.
Please plan for a quiet, well-lit room, preferably at home, with the door shut to speak with your doctor. Your TCN doctor offers a judgment-free environment to speak freely about your personal needs, questions, and concerns. It is your personal business, so plan ahead to make the most of it in private. We also recommend having a pad of paper and pen handy to take notes.
